Co-Teaching: Including the Special Education Teacher

As state education officials move to abide by federal requirements regarding students with special needs, districts are increasingly placing special education teachers into the classroom as co-teachers. For many educators, this relationship is sometimes uncomfortable and causes them to seek support on how to create an optimum learning environment for their students with an effective co-teaching model. This workshop engages participants in a series of role-playing skits culminating into a series of solutions to overcome the obstacles to co-teaching excellence. The session's outcome will provide participants with strategies to generate collaboration between special education and classroom teachers.
