Reading: Comprehension

Creating Strategic ACTIVE Readers at the Middle and High School

How does one teach reading in middle and high school? How do we push readers to comprehend deeply and to make powerful and lasting connections? In this active workshop, Barry will share reading strategies that are applicable and useful in the middle and high school setting. Participants will extend their understanding of research on reading comprehension and build on reading strategies that promote asking questions, making connections, inferring and making text visual.

This workshop is a wonderful match if you are a content area teacher looking for techniques and strategies that will improve comprehension and reflective learning in your classroom.
