In this dynamic workshop, Barry Hoonan will share reading and writing strategies that help readers determine what is important in text and develop ways to remember the most important ideas. Participants will learn:

• how to model read aloud and think aloud sessions;
• how to integrate comprehension strategies such as inferring and summarizing into content area instruction;
• how to help readers adjust reading strategies like visualizing used for fiction and merge them into non-fiction;
