Making Instruction Effective for Elementary English Language Learners
A professional development opportunity for teachers in grades K-6 who want to learn more about how to make instruction more accessible and more effective for the English language learners in their mainstream classrooms.
Participants in this training will:
- Learn how children learn a second language and how to support this process in school
- Become familiar with Instructional strategies that build active learning and oral language
- Learn how to design lessons and implement instruction for ELLs that, simultaneously, teach academic content, accelerate language learning, and strengthen literacy skills
