Early Literacy

From the Beginning: Comprehension For Primary Grades

Emergent readers deserve instruction that empowers them as language users, reflective thinkers and wordsmiths. A rich mix of high quality literature, inviting nonfiction selections, carefully planned word study and comprehension strategies, empowers emergent readers with strategies and understandings for the more challenging texts ahead. This session will provide tools for "growing strategic readers" who can navigate a diverse range of texts and read for understanding.
