Joy Scurlock

Brief Biography

Joy Scurlock has made a difference in children's lives for over 18 years. She has been an elementary classroom teacher, reading specialist, curriculum writer and staff developer. Joy has passionate interests in all dimensions of literacy development but is especially passionate about strategies which provide interactive experiences for young readers and writers, as well as charting the course for balanced literacy. Joy has presented on the county, state and national levels in addition to continuing her work with the students, teachers, parents, and community workers in her county. Joy is also contributing author to Spotlight On Comprehension by Linda Hoyt, Heinemann, 2004.
