Ellen Kronowitz

Brief Biography

Dr. Ellen Kronowitz is a professor at California State University, San Bernardino. Prior to going to the University she served as a program development specialist for a New York University Teacher Corps Project and before that as a full time lecturer at Brooklyn College, City University of New York.

Ellen has written two texts for new teachers, Your First Year of Teaching and Beyond, 4th edition, and A Teacher's Guide to Success. She has also co-authored three resource books for teachers, Pathways to Poetry, and, with her grad students, published a teacher resource book about Native American cultures, Circle of Tribes. She has written four little books and one big book for early readers in the Dominie Factivity Series, published by Pearson.

At CSUSB, she has served as the University liaison to the Hillside-University Demonstration School, an award winning partnership that has been recognized nationally and internationally.

For the several years Ellen has presented full-day workshops for new teachers and mentors. In addition, she has made numerous presentations on teacher induction and social studies education and has written several articles in these fields as well.
