Kelly Davis is a National Board Certified special educator, classroom teacher, instructional team leader, reading specialist, and currently is entering her third year as a Department of Special Education Resource Teacher where she supports elementary school staff/programs for a range of learners. Using her array of credentials she has a nice balance of teaching experiences for over 25 years and prefers being referred to as an educator and resource for all learners.
Education for ALL, Responsibility of ALL is a motto she created while establishing special education programs in new schools. She carries this belief with her as it drives her professional development offerings. It summarizes her belief that educators in the school community are responsible for teaching a range of learners. This motto supports acceptance, a sense of belonging, and optimal participation. Kelly is known for her high-energy, interactive presentation style where participants gain motivating ideas and resources they are eager to use.
Kelly and her husband of 25 years, Roger, have two teenage daughters. Roger's mother, Eleanor, lives with them and the busy house keeps her entertained. Kelly is a watercolor artist and her paintings are inspired by her cottage gardens. She has fun baking and creating confections out of chocolate. Kelly and her husband also enjoy kayaking and playing musical instruments together in their "family jam sessions."
