Max Brand

Brief Biography

Max Brand currently teaches fifth grade in Dublin, Ohio. Max's teaching experience includes teaching in both inner city Columbus and in the suburbs of Columbus. He has worked as a classroom teacher (all grades at the elementary level except 4th), Reading Recovery Teacher, Teacher leader for the Literacy Collaborative. Max is the author of 2 books, Word Savvy and Practical Fluency for Stenhouse Publishers. Max is working on a third book, Vocabulary Across the Curriculum which will be published in 2007. He is also revising Essential Learning Products Spelling Series for grades 1-6.

Max Brand is the father of 3 school-age sons. His love of words is rekindled on a daily basis when his mother's words reverberate in his head, "Some day you'll get yours." Hiking, watching birds, playing ball with his sons and following the Boston Red Sox are how Max spends his leisure time.
